Dominion Tower | Energy Complex
Dominion Tower Complex is an exploration of opportunities to create a landmark energy project for the State of Louisiana and a way to brand Downtown New Orleans as a center of innovation and green technology. The project’s design is driven by optimized energy systems and by the expanded and enhanced experience of users within the complex. The design includes a green wall panel system located at the east entrance to the Superdome Complex, green wall containers located on all sides of the parking garage, mounted planters with screens that allow the system to grow vertically along the façade of the structure, and a media plaza. The green wall panel system provides stormwater management and mitigation, microclimate control through evaporative cooling, air purification, and reduced reliance on the building’s HVAC system by acting as an insulating blanket. It also acts as an educational tool because of its high visibility and pedestrian scale. In addition, the system would significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the complex by consuming the same amount of CO2 as roughly 221 13’ tall trees.
